EU writing project
With the EU writing project for SUK3 on the horizon, it is about time to get started thinking about possible topics. After thorough consideration, I have come up with the following five suggestions. The first one could concern how the EU tackles crisis like Greece. The second idea focuses on effects and changes for me as a single person and EU citizen since the joining of the EU. The EU compared to the US, especially in terms of identification, sense of togetherness and language barriers could make another interesting topic. A further paper idea could give attention to a comparison between the EU and other European countries who have not joined the Union yet, such as Norway, Switzerland or Albania. Lastly, the history of the European Union could also be content for a paper. The attention with this idea could be on questions like why the Union has come into being and where there are its origins. I am really looking forward to a successful and compelling project.

AntwortenLöschenI really like your fourth idea! It is still pretty broad though. You will probably have to specify the aspects you want to compare. Now, as far as I know neither Norway, nor Switzerland are planning to join the EU in the near future, but for information on the EU's relationship with Albania, have a look at this: http://ec.europa.eu/enlargement/countries/detailed-country-information/albania/index_en.htm.
It might also be interesing to look at how non-EU countries such as Norway and Switzerland are integrated into the EU framework anyway. A lot of major contract-based EU law is in force in CH as well for instance, but under a different name. Just a thought!

Hey, you have got quite a nice range there! I would rank your third topic first and your fourth second. Although the US comparison seems a bit extensive for a short paper it is still doable if you are a master in structuring ;)
